Our Work
Adult Mental Health Services encompasses three programs that focus on refugee adults who suffer from complex post traumatic stress disorder. Through mind/body integrative therapeutic approaches, these adults learn ways to become self empowered to minimize their trauma symptoms, build supports around them, and strengthen their ability to live a healthy and productive life
- Individual Therapy uses multiple mind/body approaches to the healing process of a refugee experiencing severe post trauma symptoms. These approaches include a variety of evidenced based psychotherapies with trauma victims such as cognitive processing therapy, strength-based narrative, EMDR, and sensori-motor psychotherapy. In support of the psycotherapy, we integrate energy therapies, hypnotherapy, massage therapy, acupressure, and Feldenkrais
- Group Therapy follows the same principles as the individual therapy but through a group dynamic that builds individual and group supports of one another
- Adult Retreats a similar program to the youth retreats, the adult retreats teaches individuals to strengthen their ability to self heal, receive the support others as group members, and build on their inner strengths through a series of gatherings lasting 4-8 hours each
